In a record verdict, a Floyd County man was recently awarded $8.6 million in damages by a Floyd County Superior Court jury. Brinson Askew Berry’s Bob Berry served as the local attorney in the case, partnering with lead attorney Michael Werner of The Werner Law Firm.
While riding a motorcycle, plaintiff William “Cleve” Corley was struck by a Floyd County Emergency Services truck. The opposing parties agreed that the driver of the Emergency Services truck was at fault, however they could not agree on an amount of damages, resulting in a superior court trial.
The $8.6 million verdict is one of the highest civil verdicts ever awarded in the Floyd County judicial circuit.
