A long-standing leader in the Georgia legal community, Brinson, Askew, Berry, Seigler, Richardson & Davis, LLP lawyers in Rome Ga, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
Growing from a boutique two-man firm in 1975 to a full-service nearly-twenty-attorney firm today, Brinson Askew Berry attorneys in Rome Ga represent clients throughout North Georgia and metro Atlanta.
Brinson Askew Berry has developed a deep bench of attorneys, many who have spent their entire legal careers with the firm. Along with its three founding partners—King Askew, Bob Brinson and Bob Berry—five other attorneys have worked at the firm for more than 20 years: Tom Richardson, Andy Davis, Mark Webb, Joe Seigler, and Wright Smith. Brinson Askew Berry’s attorneys have 534 collective years of practicing law.
“We pride ourselves on recruiting and retaining talented attorneys,” said C. King Askew, managing partner at Brinson Askew Berry. “Through the past 40 years, we’ve developed a strong practice that is built on our clients’ success. It is the foundation of our strong and steady growth since 1975.”
In the mid-1970s, Brinson was a young partner and Askew a senior associate with Rogers Magruder & Hoyt in Rome. They decided to form their own firm, and Brinson Askew opened for business in January of 1975. Berry joined the firm a few months later to form Brinson Askew Berry.
Over the past four decades, Brinson Askew Berry’s practice has grown from a small general firm to now include expertise in practice areas such as complex commercial litigation, commercial real estate, banking, domestic relations, medical and professional malpractice defense, media and First Amendment law, and bankruptcy. Its clients include financial institutions, healthcare companies, local governments, educational institutions, housing authorities, and individuals.
“We would not be celebrating our 40th year without our clients,” Askew said. “We thank them for their trust and their loyalty.”
Members of the firm are active in the State Bar of Georgia and the Rome Bar Association. Most volunteer their time in support of civic, cultural, political, and charitable organizations, including the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce, Boys Scouts of America (five attorneys are Eagle Scouts), the YMCA Free Clinic of Rome, Harbor House, Leadership Georgia, Leadership Rome, Rome Salvation Army, Heart of the Community Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity.
“We have always felt that it is important for our firm to be engaged in our community,” Askew said. “Our attorneys and staff gladly give their time to many civic and professional organizations.”
