Brinson Askew Berry partner and Cave Spring City Attorney Frank Beacham III is advising the city as it reviews additions to its alcohol ordinance if voters approve the sale of distilled spirits on March 19.
The City Council working to be prepared if the measure passes by reviewing alcohol ordinances from across the state.
If the measure passes, the board plans to meet the next week to discuss the details they want to include when they enact it.
Beacham told the council that limits are likely on the number of package stores, the location of alcohol venues and the type of signage allowed. He noted that Cave Spring doesn’t have zoning, but maps could be part of the ordinance containing restrictions, according to an article in the Rome News Tribune.
