The Rome-Floyd County Development Authority will take the lead role in recruiting new industry to the area after ratifying an intergovernmental agreement with Rome and Floyd County, the Rome News-Tribune reported.
Brinson Askew Berry represents the Development Authority.
The newspaper said the change has been in the works for nearly six months. During the agency’s meeting on Tuesday, City Manager Sammy Rich and Floyd County Manager Jamie McCord both indicated it was reasonable to continue funding the Rome Floyd Chamber’s efforts to bring new jobs to the community until a new executive director of the Development Authority is brought online.
