Stewart Duggan and Bob Berry, partners with Brinson Askew Berry’s Public and Affordable Housing Group, attended and provided training to housing authority staff, including housing directors and commissioners, at the Georgia Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities (GAHRA) Spring Conference held at the Jekyll Island Convention Center.
GAHRA represents approximately 200 public housing authorities throughout the State of Georgia who provide affordable housing for approximately 250,000 of Georgia’s low-income residents. More than one-fourth are elderly or handicapped.
Duggan and Berry provided training on topics covering legal updates impacting housing; fair housing laws and applications; practice tips on landlord-tenant issues, housing persons with criminal records, and Georgia’s open meetings and open records laws (Sunshine Laws). Approximately 300 housing authority staff and board members attended the 2019 Spring Conference at Jekyll Island.
