As attorneys for the Floyd County Board of Education, Brinson Askew Berry negotiated a $2.7 million settlement with Johnson Controls as part of a theft case.

The Floyd County School District was the victim of a multi-million-dollar theft related to facilities contracts. The discovery prompted a multi-year investigation by the Floyd County Police Department, the Floyd County District Attorney’s office, and other investigative bodies that was completed in 2017.

Johnson Controls Inc. agreed to pay the Floyd County Board of Education $2.3 million and provide services and equipment for two years. The total value of that settlement is $2.7 million.
