Brinson Askew Berry partner Bob Berry will lead efforts to promote the 2023 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) that will be on the ballot on Nov. 7.
The list of projects was finalized in early July and approved by committee representatives of the City of Rome, Floyd County and Cave Spring.
“This SPLOST really has projects for everyone across the city and county,” Berry told the Rome News-Tribune. “And also addresses some of our critical infrastructure needs.”
Berry, who leads the advisory board, said the one-cent sales tax is a fair one that benefits everyone in Floyd County.
“Up to 40% of the sales tax in generated by people outside of Floyd County,” Berry said. “This provides a huge help lifting the burden for these necessary projects off the shoulders of Floyd County taxpayers.”
