Former Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Norman S. Fletcher Celebrates 90th Birthday

Former Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Norman S. Fletcher, who has been Of Counsel with Brinson Askew Berry since 2005, celebrated his 90th birthday on July 10.

Justice Fletcher, a highly respected legal figure, was appointed to the Supreme Court of Georgia in 1989 and served until 2005 when he retired. He served as Chief Justice during his last four years on the court. Following his retirement, Justice Fletcher joined Brinson Askew Berry. His practice areas since joining Brinson Askew Berry include arbitration, mediation, appellate practice, expert witness, and civil trial practice.

Justice Fletcher was appointed to the Georgia Supreme Court in 1989 by Gov. Joe Frank Harris and was re-elected to a third six-year term in 2002.

Throughout his career, Justice Fletcher has made significant contributions to the legal profession and the state of Georgia. His dedication to justice and commitment to upholding the rule of law have earned him widespread admiration and respect. He was honored with two of the State Bar of Georgia’s most prestigious awards — the Distinguished Service Award and the Chief Justice Thomas O. Marshall Professionalism Award.
